Artian — What Does the Name Mean?

We say ār-tee-uhn (/ɑːrtiən/), with emphasis on the first syllable and a clear t sound. It rhymes with guardian or artisan.

It is unrelated to the small village in Iran (Artīān) or the Albanian given name (ār-shən, like Martian). Incidentally, the latter means warrior — a fitting reference since it conveys our revolutionary approach to enterprise automation.

More relatable is the ancient greek word ἄρτιος (ártios), meaning complete or perfect. This association may explain the name of the elite Artian civilization in the Monster Hunter game series. Some imagine Artians as futuristic AI-human hybrid beings. We enjoy these interpretations, but the truth is simpler.
